Tifereth Israel Sisterhood

Sisterhood is affiliated with Women’s League for Conservative Judaism.  Sisterhood is eager to serve our members, the T.I. Congregation, and the Jewish Community.

Sisterhood develops educational, charitable, and fun events for its members. A team of Sisterhood volunteers are always diligently assisting at synagogue functions to ensure their success. Our annual fundraising projects always meets or exceeds our goals. Last year we were proud to support our Congregation with a donation in excess of our pledge. Among our planned activities, support of Torah Fund ranks high. Donations to Torah Fund help support five Conservative/Masorti institutions of higher education throughout the world.

The following is a list of this year’s scheduled events.

  • Mondays from 1-4 PM we meet for Mah Jong and Canasta.
  • Every other month we meet for a book discussion at a member’s home.
  • The second Thursday of each month is Shared Meals. Sisterhood shares serving the food-insecure community with Bensalem Presbyterian Church.
  • Thursday, August 21- Picnic at the home of Melanie Goldstein
  • Sunday, September 14- Opening program- Bead Making- 1:00 PM
  • Tuesday, October 28- New York Trip
  • Sunday, November 2—Membership Appreciation Brunch—11:30 AM
  • Thursday, December 4- Mitzvah Project- 2:00 PM
  • Thursday, January 22- T.I. Unity Week at T.I.- 6:30 PM
  • Sunday, January 25- International Holocaust Day
  • Sunday, February 1—Tu B’Shevat Seder with Men’s Club
  • Sunday, March 15- Mid Atlantic Region Team Bingo- 1:00 PM
  • Sunday, April 12- Yom HaShoah Program- Time TBA
  • Sunday, April 19—Israel Celebration—Sisterhood and Men’s Club
  • Date and place TBA – Passover Recipe Exchange – 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, Sunday, April 26 – Torah Fund Program – 12:30 PM
  • Wednesday, May 13 – Book Review and Tea Party: The Art Spy by Michelle Young – Time TBA
  • May, date TBA – Sisterhood Trip – Destination TBA
